Gerry
Your statement is incorrect. I didn’t vote the director out at the first meeting. I opened up the process. How could I vote to re instate her when it was my first meeting? Then you would be questioning how I could vote to renew her contract on my first meeting. Some people can make tuff decisions and some people play Monday morning quarterback.

Joe
I have been a registered voter for 30 years, 3 weeks of that I was registered as a Republican, the balance as a Democratic and yes Governor Patrick (D) appointed me. Turncoat was a great headline for The Lowell Sun and others but a bit of a stretch.

I couldn't agree more with the statement " the School Committee is the final sign off on bills." Obviously the people in between as well as the School Committee should be ousted and new members elected and then MAYBE there would be some oversite to this School and its workings. That won't happen, so one has to ask questions. I have watched the meetings and I have to tell you Ms. Santoro does not like being questioned, too bad. Is it an attack on the Superintendent? Absolutely not. Missing money, increases in Legal Fees without prior approval? Do you honestly believe that missing monies and increased legal fees are helping the students? It seems as though you think that a member of the School Committee is supposed to, get elected, sit there like most of them do now, and be rubber stamps. Erik Gitschier was elected by the people because he believes in the school and its workings. He will continue to ask the questions and if you or anyone else has objections, that is too bad. Call him Rodney all you want, it is better than being called a rubber stamp because your friends don't like answering questions that have an effect on everyone.

LOL It was a planted shot at mt friend Mr. Bond...BTW I disagree with you on your assumtion that Erik was austricized by his superintendent, she works for him and he has attended 2 meeting guns blazing and has set him self up as the Rodney Elliot of the Tech Committee. A lone wolf only he has a sidekick in Bahou where Rodney has none.

I thought Erik would be more student driven than Supt. bashing.

Jay,

The School Committee is the Final Sign off for approval on all bills. So I guess Bahou and others get a pass for signing without asking a questions about the bill? Talk about checks and balances why did we elect them if they are not checking and instead whining about cost?

Pretty lame comparison between Bond and Gitschier. One guy switched parties, got appointed then voted at his first meeting not to renew the contact of a housing director. The other ran a successful campaign, was austricized by his superintendent, then started voting. Turncoat vs. an elected official trying to get answers. Not even close Gerry.
