GN: I asked GLRTHS Chair Victor Olson the following:
Should the School District be covering Mr. Gitschier’s expenses if these charges relate to his role as a School Committee person? and What role does the District’s Legal Counselor Mr. Long have in the process?
Here is his reply:
Mr. Nutter,
The District’s legal councilor is currently serving as temporary intermediary between each side’s representation and as coordinator to confirm entering into a third party mediation. A third party mediator and not the the District’s legal councilor will become the facilitator of mediation should it move forward.
Both parties have hired their own attorneys. The question regarding covering charges remains at this time and has not been raised.

I hate to play semantics but didn’t I just raise the question?
I will be asking Tech SChool Committee member Ray Boutin tomorrow morning on Saturday Morning Live to present a formal motion at their March meeting asking for a ruling on whether Mr. Gitschier should be reimbursed or covered for any legal expense has a result of these charges by the Superintendent.
