Sen. Brown received some endorsements from the Lowell Police Unions today before he met with the Lowell Sun.
Chris Scott in his column Blog has the story on the Sun Meeting.
If your not familar with some of the Police officers in the picture, I notice a lot of long time Lowell Offiers who come from large families that have been committed to community service in this city, including Dennis Moriarty, Tom Fleming, Jack Dolan, Tim Golden, Bob Davidson and LPD Officer / Dracut School Committeeman Mike Myles to name a few.

So, is Mike Hayden Scott Brown’s campaign manager?
Just one diary down Hayden grumbled about me. “Jack Mitchell He is just a blow in who thinks he knows what best for the city and everyone in it.” I know Hayden is Brown’s target universe, old angry white men, who blame others for their shortcomings, (“others” being mostly immigrants and other “freeloaders” or so they claim). Who would of thought they would parrot Hayden’s low brow talking points? David Gergen most assuredly is not giving Brown any pointers. Gergen is at Harvard. That would be a #messagefail
Anyways, how many cops are in this picture? 12 tops! That is curious. The Patrolman’s Union touts 165 members. How many voted in the endorsement process? They need a quorum, for sure. A simple majority of the quorum? Maybe 51% of 30? 40? Curious how the “reality” may differ starkly from the Press Release? What is the minimum number of cops it would take to commit the whole 165 to the Brown endorsement? Could it be 15? 20? 25?
I agree with Jack. There are many times a union supports a candidate and the membership is ashamed and embarrassed by the leaderships decision. Carte Blanche democratic endorsements by unions are starting to change as the workers smarten up and realize they are not being helped by the party of the freeloader.
