There was a 20” water main break at approximately 3:30am this morning located on the Umass Lowell property (Riverside St). This along with the high demand because of temperatures has caused a disruption in the distribution system resulting in discolored water in various locations throughout the City.

The contractor is onsite making the necessary repairs, this should take several hours.
