GLRT Agenda Thursday June 14th 2012

SC_Meeting_Agenda_120614

I attached the full Agenda and Packet for this Thursday meeting and commend the school for their upgraded Website. Maybe Lowell one day will have a nice, easy to navigate site like the Tech. that includes everyone’s contract and other vital information.

Chairman Victor Olson has a couple of interesting motions on the Agenda.

The first dealing with the Renovation and reducing cost to each community that I have emailed him asking about. The 2nd is a RESUME Issue..I’d be interested in any feedback from the Lowell SC on this motion.

Motion by Mr. Olson to provide resumes of new hires to each member of the school committee for informational purposes showing qualifications for position hired that require disclosure in public forum under the Massachusetts code of ethics for public employees. This will be provided after the hiring process so the committee will not have the appearance of influencing the hiring process and presented prior to the public disclosure.

Lowell member Erik Gitschier has a motion requesting the School Committee reduce the approved budget by $108,282 – which sounds like a specific position to me, sort of how the Council got Andy Sheehan. and I have emailed him to also ask what exactly that item is about.

Anyone want to bet none of the LIL crowd attack Gitschier for this the way they went after Rita and others on the Sheehan motion. Oh wait they HATE the Tech and that Supt. so they won’t care.
