I was wrong – Doherty knows all about POLL – He was a Disaster on WCAP Today

Gerry: Chris Doherty called me on Saturday for three reasons, one of which was to disavow ownership of the poll without having to actually say that. He had valid points, it could have been another opponent, it could have been a special interest group, he doesn’t believe in push polls, he’s smart enough that if he did do a poll he would make sure his opponent wasn’t called. Left in Lowell and the Sun are supporters of Eileen and pushing her agenda yet no one who isn’t a supporter of her’s has talked about the Poll. This was gold and I couldn’t wait to run with it.

Yet dummy that I am I realized much too late, that I never asked him point-blank did you commission the Poll. We talked around it but I never asked exactly for a yes or no answer. I took all these points and made an assumption that made me just an ASS. I questioned another BLOGS motives while all the while was myself being played.

I am guilty of stupidity in rushing to do a post and I admit that. Chris didn’t lie to me, I made assumptions and ran with them. My BAD. I am 100% wrong for carrying his water because he felt that LIL & the SUN were biased and he could not get his views out. I ate it up like a hungry lap dog!

All those points that led me to write the column with the headline: Doherty: POLL NOT MINE! seemed logical yet the more I thought about it yesterday and listened to Chris on WCAP this morning the more I realized I was WRONG and had been played.

He implied to me it could have been others or there could not even be one and led me to believe if there was one it wasn’t his and hoped I would run with it and help take some heat off his campaign. It worked, .I fell for it! I took the bait and posted the column.

When I heard Chris Doherty on WCAP with Teddy Panos this morning it hit me, just like he did with the Sun, he didn’t answer Teddy Panos. He did not answer the exact question asked, if he or his campaign commissioned the poll. The interview was a complete disaster and this guy just imploded his own campaign. If he had credibility before this interview, it is gone.

I criticized my friend Barry Finegold for his answer on the Home Rule Petition and Eileen for NOT answering the question on the Petition. DOHERTY IS 100% WRONG FOR NOT ANSWERING THE QUESTION ON IF HE COMMISSIONED THE POLL!

Okay, lesson learned by me. The more I Blog the more I learn. I tell my 9-year-old we learn things everyday. I will listen better to answers and not make assumptions based on points that while related, don’t answer the question. I will not post a politicians response unless I get it in writing. I was wrong to question if the poll existed and wrong to say Doherty wasn’t responsible. No one to blame but myself !

Doherty – If Collective Bargaining doesn’t work, what choice do we have?

Gerry: In Response to my question: Would you support the City of Lowell’s Home Rule Petition regarding Health Care?

Chris Doherty candidate 1st Middlesex Senate: My first choice would be to try to work things out in collective bargaining. This system has worked for many years. Unions need to realize that times have changed and they may need to give more than before to save jobs.

If Collective Bargaining doesn’t work, what choice do we have? If the City, has it did this past Tuesday on an 8-1 voted elects to go the route of the Home Rule Petition then, YES I would do everything I could to support it. You have to support the taxpayers of the City.
