A question for the MA. Senate…What happened to Common Sense?

The Mass Senate can’t put aside their political difference long enough to use common sense and pass the amendment allowing Casiono’s .

This state has killed BINGO for most private groups / non-profits because they limit the amount that can be used as payouts and now before they even allow a Casino because the State needs revenue the yahoo’s who think they should decide the morality of people (you can buy booze and cigarettes but can’t drink before noon on Sunday and can’t smoke inside) now want to tell you if we allow you to spend your money gambling in MA. instead of Conn. we will tell you if you can smoke and drink there. Also one yahoo wanted to limit your ability to use your credit card. So if a person with excess income wanted to leave it here they don’t want all of it. HELLO What they hell are you thinking?

Meanwhile the Republican party is not doing themselves any favors by playing political games and grandstanding maneuvers for cheap headlines.

How does stalling a vote help the citizens? How is 100 amendments serving the people of this state? Where is the common sense? Here are a few gems that were offered as amendments:

A) proposal to force casinos to close between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m. daily, as a deterrent to addiction.
B) proposed a measure to reduce the number of authorized casinos in the bill from three to one
C) warning stickers on slot machines.
D) limits on drinking in casinos,
E) Ban smoking
F) Limit Credit Card use at the Casino

Richy Tisei, we know you’re running for Lt. Gov and you may in fact be better than Tim “doughboy” Murray but why feed into these Senators who just don’t have a clue by offering ” a tongue-in-cheek proposal to ban trans fats from being sold in casinos, when you know a dingbat like Susan Fargo would run with it?

In this economy when the State has already had to cut and cut and cut it is not the time for stall tactics. Has one of these senators who are against casino’s offered any thoughts where the additional revenue will come from?

You may be correct that the House under Buffalo Bob DeLeo and the Senate under T.Murray have stalled your efforts to debate a sales tax reduction, property tax reductions, and other issues central to your party’s platform but it’s not the time to go into prevent defense. Pass the damn casino bill and then get your party working to beat the incumbents.

Here’s a suggestion, get some of these people who are running to start calling out the incumbents about raising the taxes and how bad the house / senate is run. Show the people how the current party and it’s members stifle debate and continue to serve themselves.

By the way Mr. T in all the cutting both the Senate and House have done and in all your party stances about cutting ,has your party offered any suggestions to say cut the pay for all legislatures by 10% and eliminate the per diem travel pay?

I haven’t seen that suggestion yet. You all vote to eliminate other jobs and seek unions to make concessions. How about stepping up and showing that all of you are willing to share the pain?
