I’m Gerry Nutter a 47 year old lifelong Lowellian who has lived in Centraville pretty much my whole life ( a few years on the Pawt. Blvd in my 20′s).
I’ve been involved with St. Michael Parish since I was an altar boy, I worked at the Rectory, worked Bingo, taught CCD, chaperoned the CYO and was a lector and minister of communion. I studied for 1 year at St. John’s Seminary and the people of St. Michael’s paid for my tuition and books with many gifts to me which I have never forgotten.
I’ve coached baseball in Centraville from TeeBall to Senior League. I’m the fourth oldest of 11 children, have 4 kids ranging in age from 26 to 8 and have worked in the printing industry for the last 20 years including my current job as the Manager of Customer Service for DocuServe Inc. in Marlborough. I worked at The Greater Lowell Technical School as the In-House Suspension Monitor, for the City of Lowell in the Parks & Recreation Dept and did a year as a temp with the Lowell Post Office.
I got interested in Politics when I was in 7th grade and we had to interview a sitting politician. I was Lucky enough to interview the Mayor Armand Lemay who made a big impression on me , willing to sit and answer all my questions and take a picture and seemed to really care about a kid doing a report. The following year a friends dad was working for Bob Hatem and I helped dropping flyers and again Bob made a big impression on me with his big smile and taking time to Thank all the kids who helped out. I got my 1st taste for helping in a campaign in high school working for Tom Casey when he ran for City Council and got to see first hand how a recount was handled. His Mom Eileen was a teacher at Lowell High who was one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. I’ve worked on a few School Committee, Council, State Rep and a Congressional Campaign.
Okay that’s enough about me, just wanted to give you some background.
